 Week of January 15-19 Upcoming Dates to Remember:  -Tuesday, January 23- Ms. Paterson's class visits Telus Spark. As Telus Spark doesn't allow us to bring our backpacks, please bring a bagged snack lunch, and water bottle.  -January 22-27 - Lacrosse Residency -Jan. 29 - Mrs. Cox’s class at Telus Spark - forms will go home Monday. This week we continued to investigate geometry with a focus on comparing angles. We used right angles (90 degrees) to help us determine whether angles were less than or more than 90 degrees.  The grades 3's and 4's have alsos just started investigating what multiplication is and how it is represented. This would be a great time to start learning, reviewing, and practicing our basic facts at home.  How many equal groups can you make? Important Reminders: No School Monday - PD Day Jan. 23 - Telus Spark Field Trip (Paterson) Please return forms : ) Jan. 29 - Telus Spark Field Trip (Cox) Forms going home next week Our Week: It sure was a cold one out there and we really appreciate families sending students with proper warm clothing for the weather.   Math Update: Mrs. Cox and Ms. Paterson have had the students working in their grade groups on addition and subtraction of larger numbers with and without regrouping.  We have also continued our geometry learning with angles, and parallel/perpendicular lines and shapes. Literacy After the break, we have started new reading groups.  This is a targeted literacy time for 30 minutes each day to build phonemic awareness at each child's level.  Some groups are working on understanding long vowel teams, and other more complex morphemes.
