Our Week

Our week was very busy with preparations for our Celebration of Learning.  The students were focusing on their Kids' Guide to the 12 Mile Coulee, and creating our clay coulee pendants.

We also spent time learning a new topic in Math (Transformations).  This involves rotating, flipping, and sliding shapes without changing the shape or size.  We mostly focused on translations this week and the students are starting to create a map of their choice with shapes (buildings) to provide moving instructions for.

For Inquiry this week, students are studying, exploring and documenting various materials to learn about light and shadow and how light can travel/transfer.

In Literacy this week, students have continued to work on their non-fiction reading project in Mrs. Cox/Paterson's groups.  We have also been working on character development in writing.  The students created a fictional character and started to write the traits of the character.
