Can a solution of sugar or salt turn into a solid?
To help us answer this question, we ran an experiment.  We used hot water to help with the evaporation process and sugar or salt to form a solution.  After a few weeks, we concluded that the salt solution did in fact turn into a solid.  As a class, we had a lengthy discussion on why the sugar did not form a solid. As scientists, we agreed that we may not have used enough sugar, or perhaps we used too much water.

The Red River cart was developed by Metis and was made entirely of nonmetallic parts!

 Finger-weaving Metis sashes

During Metis Week we spent time learning about Metis culture and traditions. Did you know Metis people used and wore woven sashes that had over 50 different uses?

We learned that Metis used beads to create vibrant floral embroidery.

The grade 3's and 4's have started their second round of the Robotics Club. We now have some amazing experts who can teach others how to program our interactive robot we call Dash.

Our learners took joy in being able to read with the grade 1's and 2's!

Our novel 'A Rover's Story' has inspired many of our learners to research, learn,  create, and, share their understanding of our read-aloud.

A check-in of our understanding of the water cycle! Next, we will be reviewing the three states of matter.
