Math

We have been focussing on multiplication and division strategies.  So far, Mrs. Cox's group is developing a strong understanding of what it means to multiply and divide and how we can make equal groups or share equally.  This week we were using number lines for multiplication and subtraction.  Mrs. Paterson's group is reviewing the strategies and working with multiplying using arrays.

Literacy

We've been having a lot of fun with alliterations and now onomatopoeia.  This week we started reading stories about the theft of the Mona Lisa from various perspectives.  Next week we will begin turning this into a comic and adding onomatopoeia to our comics.

Inquiry

The students have (for the most part) completed their Google Slides all about the Alberta region they chose to study.  We have begun presenting these to the group if students wish to share.

For science, we have used the Da Vinci exhibit to springboard us into Simple Machines.  This week students worked in groups to define 6 simple machines and study devices which use simple machines.
