Math In math, we continued to look at patterns.  We have started to compare fractions using fraction strips and are finding equivalent fractions.  We are starting to place fractions with different denominators on a number line.  This is quite a difficult concept and the students are doing a fantastic job! April 8-12 Dates to Remember: April 19 - PD Day - No School April 25 - Coulee Walk/Geology Specialists visiting:) Inquiry: Our gardeners and botanists were busy planting tomato seeds from space and from Earth. Our big question: How does outer space affect seeds? Fossils and Dinosaurs Miss McClernon has been teaching the students about fossils, including as types of fossils, how they can be formed and where they can be found in Alberta.  We have also been discussing why Alberta has so many dinosaur fossils and the history of the Tyrell Museum.  Today the students began to research various dinosaurs and they will then choose one to study further. Upcycling our T-shirts to make bags for our Coulee walks.  Wellness: What is a role model? Dates to Remember:  -Tuesday April 09-SPRING PHOTOS!  -Fun Snack: Thursday, April 11  Cookies :) Thank you for all of your donations of cardboard egg cartons and old T-shirts.  Once we have enough of these for each learner we, will start using these materials for some upcycled art, and environmentally friendly gardening.  Since our return from spring break, we have been engaged in many hands-on activities.   The history of the Earth's surface can be explained by examining its layers.                               What are fossils?
