Big thanks to everyone who came out to the fun run today! What a beautiful morning for a run!
Our Week:
Math:
Grade 4 students are learning about decimals and how they relate to fractions. They are going up to tenths and hundredths.
Grade 3 students are still working hard to automatically recall their multiplication and division facts up to 10x10. Keep practicing at home! They also spent some time this week completing an assessment about data and graphing which they all did a fantastic job of. They are currently working on making their own word problem on a Google Slide which we will combine and share on Google Classroom.
Literacy:
This week the students have continued working on their non-fiction reading. We are discovering the main idea and supporting details from non-fiction books. In writing this week we started to look at fictional story writing. We have started to brainstorm characters, settings and problems that would be fun to write a story about.
Inquiry:
This week we continued to look at food webs and food chains from various eco-systems. Students created an underwater ocean environment and then read a book about ocean ecosystems to add information to their art work.
PE:
We began frisbee this week and had a great time in the gym learning to throw and catch. We will continue field games this month.
