Our Week:

Note to Moms...we have a little surprise coming home next week.  We apologize but we were waiting for the supplies for this as they arrived late.  Promise you won't be disappointed!  We hope you all have a lovely weekend and a great Mother's Day.




Inquiry:

- We have been continuing to look into Treaties, and early Albertans.  This week the students created an application to become a voyageur!

*Run Club has Begun!  This takes place and is open to all students, without any sign up, every Thursday during the lunch hour.  There will be a family fun run on May 24th @8:15 for anyone who is interested.  

Math:

We have started looking into fraction word problems in Mrs. Cox's math group and Mrs. Paterson's group is working on equivalent fractions, common denominators, and placing fractions on a number line.  

Literacy:

We continue to focus on non-fiction reading in literacy with locating text features in non-fiction books and thinking about how we can create our own non-fiction books.

Hats on for Mental Health:

This week we spent a lot of time talking about the importance of mental health and what it means to care for mental health.  We discussed our worries from small to extreme and how we can "self talk" to help us get through those tough times we all go through.

June 27 - Final Week of School

Day 1 of Coulee School (June 3)

Today's journey to the coulee was my favourite because I felt so much more calm and relaxed because you all were so calm and relaxed.  I loved sitting silently eating, asking questions, sketching, and I wondered, where are all of the nests?
