What a beautiful morning for a run! Our Week: Math: Grade 4 students are learning about decimals and how they relate to fractions. They are going up to tenths and hundredths. Grade 3 students are still working hard to automatically recall their multiplication and division facts up to 10x10. Keep practicing at home! They also spent some time this week completing an assessment about data and graphing which they all did a fantastic job of. We discussed the Energy Pyramid (producers, consumers, and decomposers). Ask why it's called an Energy Pyramid. We are excited to explore the food webs that exist in our ecosystem when we study the coulee plants and animals. It's been so nice to have the sun poking through the clouds this week so we can try out our solar cars. Inquiry: - We have been continuing to look into Treaties, and early Albertans.  This week the students created an application to become a voyageur! *Run Club has Begun!  This takes place and is open to all students, without any sign up, every Thursday during the lunch hour.  There will be a family fun run on May 24th @8:15 for anyone who is interested.   Math: We have started looking into fraction word problems in Mrs. Cox's math group and Mrs. Paterson's group is working on equivalent fractions, common denominators, and placing fractions on a number line.   Literacy: We continue to f...

 https://ericharvie.cbe.ab.ca/news/ehs-connect-for-week-of-april-29th-1714145027428 Happy Friday!   Here's a look at our week: Inquiry: We began looking at some important people who helped shape Alberta.  We started to inquire into fur traders, explorers, voyageurs, and treaties.  We looked at Chief Crowfoot who signed Treaty 7.  We have also started to explore the anatomy of plants by studying the crocus.  We were very fortunate to hear the "Crocus Story" told by Lesley Tait.  The students have practiced retelling the crocus story with a partner.  See if your child is ready to share the story with you!  This week we were wrapping up our learning about fossils and palaeontology by recording a short newscast about a dinosaur discovery.  Please ask your learner to show you their video as it becomes available on their Google Drive.   Math: We are so impressed with how well the students are doing with understanding the concept...
